His hair, left eye, and facial tattoos are all the same color.
Since he's a calico, he's got patches of other colors in his hair. His right ear is orange, and his left ear is black, and he's got a black and orange patch around the tip of his tail.
Some of the tips of his hair are dyed orange to match Eira, who is his best friend and life partner.
Rey speaks in a heavy Lominsan accent (specifically in the dialect and cant of the Rogues) but is not from Lominsa, nor did he ever set foot there until well after the Calamity. The reason for this is related to his clan's origins. If you want audio references for his accent, the More page has a link to some examples. You can also look up West Country accents. Think Captain Silver from Treasure Planet.
To me, Miqo'te have varying degrees of cat-like features. He has all the canon ones, as well as a few extra. His nails grow naturally sharpened, his teeth are closer to a feline's than a human's, and he's very...fluffy.
By which I mean his hair is more like fur. He has a fuzzy chest with arms and legs to match. His fur also extends a bit over his shoulders and down his spine, thinning out in the middle before growing thick again around his tailbone (and tail of course).
Yes, he can purr.
He has many cat-like mannerisms, which I will eventually make a page about. For now, know that he likes to nap in the sun, sneezes like a cat, will knock things over if he feels ignored or left-out, and brings people "gifts" (cool things he found on the ground).
Note that I've listed physical descriptors on this page that do not completely match his in-game appearance (hair texture, hair growth, etc). So uh, just imagine them I suppose.

Intro
Raised beneath the boughs of the Black Shroud, Rey is all too familiar with the dark undergrowth of the forest...and the people who call it home. Hailing from a group of "outsiders"—poachers, no less—Rey's childhood was fraught with danger. However, while Wailers and Elementals were constant threats, what ultimately did them in was desperation and the selfish actions born of it. Used as a scapegoat by rival poaching groups, those of Golden Eye met a violent and bitter end at the hands of the Wood Wailers. Being a youth yet in his teens was both a blessing and a curse. He was let go. Alone. While a handful of people around Bentbranch pitied him and gave him odd jobs to survive off of, this never provided any lasting respite. And once he had grown into less of a lamentable lad and more of a bothersome bloke, what little succor was given dried up rather quickly. The one thing that got him through it all was his goal to support the few remaining members of his clan once they were eventually released from prison. However, one day, when he went to check on them once more, a guard told him they'd already been released...and left him behind. What each of their reasons may have been, Rey knew not...regardless, he was now truly alone.Desperate for some sort of clue to follow, Rey decided on his next course of action. Armed with only reckless determination and a hunting knife, he decided to head deeper into the Shroud, aiming for the one place he knew of where they may have stopped by. The one place he knew of for those like him: Buscarron's Druthers.Perhaps his clan's superstition about golden eyes wasn't all talk, for it must have been pure luck that landed him at the entrance of Buscarron's with not a scratch on him. Thankfully the man took him in, as it wasn't long after that the Calamity struck. As Rey stepped up to help rebuild and aid survivors in its wake, Buscarron noticed a new light in his eyes. A fire he had feared would flicker out now blazed brightly within. Once a modicum of stability had returned to the bar, Buscarron pulled Rey aside and suggested he become an adventurer. Go out and help more poor souls. See the world beyond these branches. Leave this place in order to find his own. There were many reasons Rey hesitated. Wasn't his help still needed here? Did he have what it takes? Would they even allow him to register, given his past? It took some time, but with Buscarron's convincing and connections Rey eventually set out for the Carline Canopy and the fresh start that awaited him there.

Golden Eye
Note: This page is under construction. Below is a bare bones explanation that will eventually be replaced by one with more detail (and accuracy).
Golden Eye is a non-canon group I made up. They are a former subgroup of The Upright Thieves from Limsa Lominsa. Approximately 50 years before the Calamity struck, they were pursuing some code breakers through the Strait of Merlthor when a viscous storm wrecked their ship. The thieves and crew that survived ended up on the shores of Aldenard. For various reasons, rather than try to make their way back to Limsa Lominsa, they decided to follow the White Maiden river inland. They eventually ended up at the edges of the Black Shroud, which is where they settled. There they remained, until their demise at the hands of the Wood Wailers about 5 years before the Calamity struck.

Eira
Note: This page is under construction. Below is a bare bones explanation that will eventually be replaced by one with more detail (and accuracy). Eira's player is also planning to make their own page for Eira, which I will link to once it's up.
Eira is a Viera who specializes in botany, though she isn't a member of any guild. They met while Rey was filling orders in Ul'dah. Their bond was forged swiftly and strongly, and they consider each other best friends and more besides. They co-own a house in the Mist, though they're both rarely home due to work and other matters.
